MPA’s: Superior!

Last Tuesday, Palm Harbor University High School brought their three choirs to compete and be evaluated at MPA’s. The event was held at the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Clearwater, FL. Our schools most elite singers are divided into 3 different groups; those being Festival Women, Palm Harbor Singers, and After School Specials. Each group is evaluated and scored in two different categories; sight reading and performance. Sight reading is judged by how well you can read music that is given to you when you arrive at the judging room, so you have no time to prepare in advance. The Performance is based upon the quality and sound of the piece you have been rehearsing months before the competition. The highest you can be scored is a superior, followed by an excellent, and so on and so forth. The group “After School Specials” was scored with straight superiors, which is the best they could’ve possibly done. The Palm Harbor Singers received an excellent for sight reading and a superior for their performance. Overall, our school stands out amongst the other choral group in Pinellas County, and we should take great pride in that!
