Trip to Italy

-The Art Class at Palm Harbor traveled to Italy this past spring break and is planning to go again for spring break 2016.

The art teacher at Palm Harbor, Ms. Swisher, recently chaperoned a field trip to Italy with twelve students.  Over spring break, these students explored Italy.  They visited Venice, Florence, and Rome and had the privilege of going to sites such as St. Mark’s Basilica, The Florence Cathedral, the Colosseum, and many other tourist destinations.

Lindsey Bauer, a student in Ms. Swisher’s art class, was one of the twelve that were able to go on this trip.

“My favorite destination would have to be Venice because of the water and the beautiful scenery and view.” Bauer said.

Bauer said that she would be interested in going to Italy again with the group and that it was an amazing experience.  She did not expect to pick up on the language as quickly as she did with a couple of the words that were commonly used.

Although the students did have to fund their own trip, it was not required that they were art students in Ms. Swisher’s class.  With a recommendation from a trusted art student, anyone at school could attend.

The art class is planning another trip to Italy for spring break 2016.  For more information, go to Ms. Swisher’s room 11-109 or email her at [email protected].
