How it’s made

With the first issue of the newspaper out, let’s show what it’s like behind the scenes of the newspaper and yearbook.

Time, effort, and efficiency takes into play whenever the school newspaper or yearbook is being made. With hours upon hours of effort from the student staff, the journalism classes makes sure that the students of PHU are entertained with intriguing stories, and up-to-date news.

From start to finish, there is no relax time for the EYE newspaper. It takes about one week to write all stories, and then they are off to be edited by the editors. It’s not just a writing class, it’s also a design class having to design the newspaper and make sure all the stories, pictures and advertisements are in place.

The effort, time, and quality of the newspaper is spoken as a difficult task, and to add to that, theeyeonline.com, to work on as well. Doing both of these takes a great amount of responsibility, and the skill of multitasking to make the entertainment for the students and staff.

The newspaper is hard to make, but let’s get to the point, the yearbook is a whole other ball game compared to newspaper. From the very first day of school, to the day of distribution, the yearbook crew is pushing themselves to make your money worth it.

The newspaper and yearbook is run by the students that take the Journalism class; this means that anybody can join. The only thing a student would need is a pencil, notebook, and extravagant ideas.

Be sure to read up and buy your 2016-17 yearbook online at phuhs.org before the end of next week.
