Starbucks new limited-edition drink release

Starbucks’ new Unicorn frappucino is blasted with a pinkish-purple and blue color. This new drink is only out for a limited time. It’s ‘as rare as a unicorn’ which is the slogan for the flavor-changing drink.

“Oh my god I heard about that drink and I’ve seen it everywhere. A lot of people are posting about it. I really want to try it,” said Madison Ducharme.

Magical flavors start off sweet and fruity transforming to an interesting sour taste. Customers can swirl the blended beverage to reveal a color-changing spectacle of purple and pink. The blue syrup is what gives the frappucino a sour taste. It’s topped off with whipped cream and it’s sprinkled pink and blue ‘fairy powders.’

“Many people have different opinions about the drink and they are saying that it’s not good, but I’m just going to have to try it myself to see if they are right,” said Stephanie Koutsoumbaris.

The unicorn frappuccino is a 410 calorie beverage. 50 percent of the calories come from saturated fat, 10 percent comes from sodium, and 21 percent comes from carbohydrate.

Sadly, for people that are trying to diet, this isn’t a very good drink to have because there is 59 grams of sugar. Mangoes may be a little healthy themselves, but the mango syrup Starbucks uses isn’t so healthy.

The drink is made with just ice, milk, crème frappuccino syrup, and whipped cream. These ingredients are usually in the normal everyday frappuccino, but the ingredients that make it one-of-a-kind is the mango syrup, blue drizzle, pink powder, and sour blue powder.

“The sour blue powder is probably what makes its sour, but I know for sure that the blue drizzle made it sour too,” Said Veronica Schaffer.

As this drink is only out for a limited time and everyone has a different opinion, everyone should still go out and try this new trendy drink. So stop by your local Starbucks and order the Unicorn frappuccino.
