The controversy surrounding the United States’ next two possible candidates for the presidency and their conflicting views and problematic pasts make this election exciting and nerve-wracking.

The website www.lyingcrookedhillary.com is run and paid for by Donald J. Trump for President, Inc., who is the Republican party’s nominee. This website highlights the supposed controversial acts and missteps committed by the Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton.

When viewing www.hillaryclinton.com the first thing to appear on screen is the statement, “The divisive language we’re hearing from Donald Trump is wrong and dangerous.” If a person viewing the site clicks “I agree,” then they are asked to make an account on the Hillary Clinton website.

The negative campaigning and constant backlash towards each other by Trump and Clinton causes voters to pick one side over the other or none at all. Americans are looking towards their favored candidate for guidance and are allowing them to impact their behavior and how they present themselves.

On the website www.donaldjtrump.com, merchandise such as “Hillary Scandal Buttons,” and “Guilty as Hill” t-shirts are available. Trump supporters see this merchandise and, in support of their favorite candidate, buy the items.

On the other side of the political spectrum, merchandise against Donald Trump is available on www.hillaryclinton.com. There are stickers with Donald Trump’s face that read “No Thank You” and “Nope.”

With these examples of propaganda broadcasted in mainstream media today, it is easy to see why people are nervous about the upcoming election. The race for the presidency is starting to heat up, causing the true colors of our potential leaders to show.

The candidates may differ in their policies and beliefs but they do have one thing in common: the use of the others missteps against one another. The presidential race is far from over and even more dirty campaign tactics are in store.
