Fast Food Dos and Don’ts

The difference between being served at a fast food restaurant vs. being the one serving is completely different.  For most people they think working at a fast food is disgusting and fattening but those are the least of your worries.  As an employee at a fast food restaurant I am exposed to all kinds of people.  Some overly friendly, some overly angry, and some just flat out rude.  There are certain things that make an employee tick and here are some ways to get through drive through as quick and efficient as possible.

  1. SLOW DOWN!  Our fingers can only type in the order so fast.  Don’t state all six orders in one breath.  Also keep in mind there are about 25 different tasks going on at the same time.
  2. SPEED UP!  We don’t want you to go too fast but at least know what you are going to order and avoid saying ummmmmm every three seconds.  We want to get you in and out as fast as you can.
  3. Yes we can hear everything!  Once you pull up the speaker we can hear you yelling at your kids, you contemplating your order, or the casual conversations you think no one can hear.
  4. There is about a 99.9% chance if you are being annoying the staff in the building is making fun of you.
  5. If you have a load truck or van, TURN OFF YOUR CAR!  The speaker is very sensitive and it is extremely loud on the headset.
  6. Don’t be greedy with your sauces…you really don’t need six sauces for a sandwich. Come one…..

If you follow these simple dos and don’ts you will be sure to make it through drive through as painless as possible for both you and the employee.
