Are selfies more important than school?

The era of selfies has gone crazy, but are they really that great?

Do you know what really grinds my gears? Random selfies in the middle of class. Everyone is like taking selfies like crazy and it gets really annoying.

I don’t even like the word selfie, I prefer the word “self-portrait” because it is completely casual.  I usually hear the word selfie from the girls that are always on there phones, and now I can’t escape the word at home because selfies are all over the media. I can’t even get the word selfie out of my head because everyone is saying it nonstop.

There is even a song that is based off of selfies. Even the song, “#Selfie” by The Chainsmokers  is annoying – the girl who sings it has a weird voice and says “Hold up, first let me take a selfie,” and that’s really all she says. Even though the beat is good, I still can’t stand the song.

Adding onto all of that, why is everyone even taking selfies in the middle of the class in the first place? Shouldn’t you be focusing on school instead of putting your selfies out on social media? If you got a bad grade on a test, it’s probably because you were too occupied taking a selfie to pay attention in class.

If this offends you, I am sorry, but I really just don’t get selfies. They are annoying, they disrupt your education, and they really grind my gears.
