Over the past few years, both resturants Chipotle and Moe’s have been slammed with social media and customers. Typically within a person’s twitter/instagram feed there will always be someone who posted about their visit to either Chipotle or Moe’s.

After interviewing several students, the vote is still unclear to which resturant is the clear winner. Both of the grills have been recieving equal votes. When one person votes for Moe’s the next person will vote of Chipotle. It’s a back and forth battle.

The resturant of Chipotle was originally founded in 1993 dating about seven years before Moe’s was even thought about. At the time Chipotle was only expecting to sell less than 103 burritos a day, but by the end of the first month open they were selling over 1,000 burritos a day. This is when McDonalds decided to put a large investment into Chipolte expanding the company from 16 resturants in 1998 to over 500 by 2005.

Although Chipotle has the history, Moe’s has been the new wonder of the modern era. In the most recent years Moe’s Southwest Grill has just began to become as much of a talk as Chipotle. Moes was founded in 2000 by Raving Brands, but Raving Brands was not the person that made Moe’s the resturant it is today. In 2007 the company was purchased by Focus Brands expanding the company all the way up to 500 stores by 2013. And within the next year Moe’s doubled in size having opened more than 550 new stores in 2014.

Both Moe’s and Chipotle are expanding at an extreme rate and will soon be at every corner like Wendy’s and McDonald’s.
