Girls moving onto States

The girls’ varsity soccer team won their regional final game with a score of 3-1 Saturday at the PHU fields. The team’s first goal was scored just 4 minutes into the first half off a header by Katie Im.

“Our goal as a team was to shut down their offense and make quick counter attacks and we accomplished that really well, which was what edged out the other team” Senior Katie Im said.

The second goal, which was also the winning goal was scored by Kayla Mouton, who has scored a total of three this post season. The goal was assisted by her sister and Alabama commit, Alexis Mouton. Alexis has scored a total of 10 goals this post season, scoring hatricks in two games.

The final goal was scored off a free kick by Mackenzie Geier.

“It felt really good to score and add another foal to the scoreboard because I knew the team could relax a little more and focus on the second half” Senior Mackenzie Geier said.
