Girls basketball continues on

-Hurricanes triumphed in a close game against Northeast.

Friday night’s non-league match started slow but within five minutes the action began. The first quarter ended 9-5 PHU. The eight minutes were up with five fouls in all.

At the second quarter Northeast soon surpassed the tied score leaving the score 22-19 at halftime. The last shot was scored with 2.7 seconds left by Northeast.

Halftime definitely put a smile on anyones face as the cheerleaders from both teams came together to chant. The girls chanted ‘ROWDIE’ and soon everyone at the game was with them.

Third period was entirely back and forth with the most impressive shot at the five minute mark. As the shot was taken the Northeast player stumbled. Everyone was silent as the ball circled the rim four times before claiming the points for Northeast

The fourth quarter kept the crowd on their toes as the shots at the rim were frequent. It was rushed but as the Northeast team fell behind the hurricanes took the win with a final score of 40-46.
