Senior Zach Nessel always had a dream. He wanted to start in a varsity game and score a basket.

After watching from the sidelines or in the crowd for three years, in just two games this season, Nessel scored a basket.

One of these baskets came in a win versus Pinellas Park where Nessel totaled 3 points.

But one basket in particular was very significant.

Against Dunedin, tons of fans piled in to see Nessel start for his Senior Night.

As he ran through the tunnel as his name was called over the speakers, he knew that it would be a night to remember.

Nessel said that, “it felt amazing running out” because he “struggled so much and was ecstatic to get there.”

Nessel came out and scored a basket to begin the game, making a nice backdoor cut and scoring over the defense.

The crowd went wild as they all came in support of Nessel, a living PHU legend.

Nessel says, “I feel like I proved everyone wrong.” He also said that he, “feels like he left a huge mark on the PHU basketball program.”

The great moments that he shared in his senior season truly made his year complete and Zach surely left behind a huge legacy.
