The Masters is arguably golf’s biggest event each year. There’s no bigger honor than winning the Masters in the golf world.

Jordan Spieth had a 5 stroke lead in the final round last Saturday in Augusta, Georgia. This lead quickly declined after a quadruple-bogey at the 12th hole. Spieth was at -5 and the quadruple-bogey put him back at -1.

Spieth had a couple opportunities to make his way back, but just couldn’t squeak it out.

Danny Willet, England native, took advantage of Spieth’s slip-up and did not look back. He ended up shooting -5, right where Spieth messed up.

Danny Willet played some great golf this past weekend but the tournament was Spieth’s to lose the whole time.

Spieth had a chance to make history and frankly lost control of it.

Jordan Spieth would have joined Jack Nicklaus, Nick Fauldo, and Tiger Woods as the only repeat champions in history of the event. Not to mention, Spieth would have been the youngest to do so at merely 22 years old.

The real question is, will Spieth bounce back from this epic meltdown?

At 22 years old, the future is still very bright for a young man whom has already won 2 major championships.
