MLB+Playoffs

Boom went the bat of Edwin Encarnacion to send the Blue Jays to victory and the MLB postseason underway. This year’s playoffs will be interesting do to the questions “can the Cubs finally win the pennant?” “Can the Giants win the World Series again like they did in 10 , 12, 14?” Only time can tell.

Now that the wildcard games are over the divisional series begins and here’s where the games get interesting.

The Cubs face the Giants, which will be the best series because the Cubs have a great team and are looking for the pennant they long desire. But the team that stands in their way, the Giants, have  won the pennant three times in the last six years. What about the Dodgers or Nationals?

Both the Dodgers and Nationals have had good years with very talented pitching.

The Indians could bring home Cleveland their second championship after the Cavaliers won the NBA Finals. The Toronto Blue Jays are looking good coming off the wild, and they still have not cooled off.

The Rangers had a spectacular year and would love to top it off with a World Series victory. David Ortiz the Red Sox designated hitter is in his final season would love to top his great career with a World Series win.

Palm Harbor University senior, Alex Thurin, said, “The MLB Playoffs have been really exciting and enjoyable.” Thurin believes the Cubs will take home the Pennant this year.

Griffin Gorken said “The Cubs will win the World Series because the Cubs have a great defense.”

Trevor Rector, the star basketball player of PHUHS, said, “The postseason has been really fun to watch and has kept me on the edge of my seat.” Rector believes that the Blue Jays will take home the title because of the power in their bats.

Nick Norrie PHUHS sophomore said, “The playoffs have been fun and are only getting more entertaining.” Norrie believes the Indians will win the World Series.
The postseason is only going to get better and better as the games go on. Many teams, many players, dream of taking home the title, but for one team that will become a reality. With their city behind their back, MLB teams start a run for the ages, the postseason is back, and is better than ever.
