National Honor Society induction just around the corner

On Nov. 20, more than 200 juniors and seniors will walk across the auditorium stage as they are inducted into the National Honor Society.

Every year, as fall comes into full swing, upperclassmen anxiously await their admissions decisions from NHS. Once these are handed out by current members, a tr, the new inductees must pay their initial dues and attend the annual induction ceremony.

At the event, the five board members speak on the values and qualities held by the NHS community before welcoming a guest speaker to show how these virtues apply in real life.

“It’s kind of exciting. You say the Pledge; you get inducted. Then the board members give a speech, and a guest speaker comes in and gives an inspirational story. Afterwards, there is a reception in the cafeteria with food,” senior Christina Kranias, historian, said.

Inductees are welcome to bring the whole family.

“It’s a really nice ceremony and night to award all their accomplishments,” Co-NHS sponsor Kerrale Prince said.
