Palm Harbor University High School has a wide variety of extracurricular activities open to all students, including the drama club.

In the drama club, students work together to create a whole theatrical show to perform on the stage in front of a thriving audience. The show is usually a musical. Students sing, dance and choreograph a whole show.

Contribution to the club can be anything from tech, costume design, set design and managing props to simply having a huge smile and being enthusiastic. Preparation for the show is difficult but performing a beautiful show is well worth it.

Haley Groth, a PHU Freshman happily explains that drama club is “just like a fun experience that helps you learn a lot about acting and theatre! You also meet really nice people that always support you in whatever you do!”

This year, the drama club is performing The Children’s Hour on September 30th through October 31st. In November, they are performing A Minister’s Wife.

“There is also a spring musical and it is yet to be announced!” Groth said.

“PHUHS’s theatre is different to my middle school because the shows are more large-scale and professional, and I also really like how much help I have received from upperclassmen since I am a freshman,” Groth said.

All students are welcome to join PHU’s drama club. It really helps students build up their skills as actors and actresses.
