With the many clubs that are in our school, this school year we finally have received a club for dance.   

The Contemporary Dance Club created by the amazing Beatrice Shen (‘24) meets every Friday from 2:15-3:15 in room 4-202. Shen currently dances at Steps School of Dance where she is a part of the Steps School Dance Ballet Ensemble and trains for various hours weekly. Shen has many accomplishments in her dance career, performing in the Nutcracker various times, competing at Youth America Grand Prix, and many other performances.   

In the club, basic skills are taught along with strength progressions to work on technique. Every week in the club, students will learn a combination and get to learn some cool new moves!  

Shen has created her own performance “Moving For The Mind” March 24th at 6:00pm in PHUHS’s theater. The performance will be showcased by dancers from Steps School of Dance. All funds from Shen’s show will be going to the Suncoast Center Mental Health Agency. Tickets for this show can be purchased on GoFan. Come support Shen and dancers from Steps school of dance!
