Q&A with Sara Tobin
Sara Tobin is like any other student. She has tests and homework to do, she hangs out with friends on the weekend, and when she has time, Sara also works on her first album.
Q: How long have you been playing?
I’ve played guitar for two years and piano for 8. I really always loved guitar, it’s a really pretty instrument.
Q: What’s your inspiration?
My inspiration is definitely all of the independent singers like Gregory and the hawk and my sisters really influence me to develop my music.
Emi and Jenny because they’ve always been there for me, and in fifth grade when I first started writing music they used to let me sing to them my new songs and give me feedback before I moved to Florida. Also my dear friends from school have influenced me such as Gina, Livi, Erica.
Q: When did you start making her album and why?
March 2010, my guitar teacher has been really supportive of my music and he’s been so kind. He pushed me to develop my songs and to keep singing so that I could record. I am very gracious.
Q: When can we expect the album to come out?
I’m aiming for early 2011, but we’ll see. As of right now, there are seven but there’s always room for more! As of now it’s only the guitar. My piano composition does not have lyrics.
Q: Do you want to become famous?
I just plan on being happy. I think fame is silly; I’d rather have a loving family and live with my sisters than have fame.
Q: Anything you would like to add?
There are so many wonderful aspiring singer and songwriter at this school. So I hope for the best for all of them.
