Last Friday and Saturday, Coachman Park was filled with blues lovers. People of all ages came out to see great musicians entertain. The lineup had Grammy nominees and even Grammy winners. The Sea-Blues festival was a part of the 58th annual Fun ‘n Sun Festival and the park was filled all day long. People sprawled out on the lawn with their blankets and relaxed listening to the talented musicians play their hearts out.
I attended the Saturday session of the concert and had an amazing time. Not only did I enjoy the weather but I definitely enjoyed the amazing blues music being played. The performer who I enjoyed the most was Shemekia Copeland. The soul she put into her music was unbelievable and she knew how to pump up the crowd.
There were so many people in attendance that only a couple patches of grass were available to sit on. My friend and I decided to sit in the back to avoid the sunlight and to face the music. Being a part of concert like this was quite relaxing compared to most of the concerts I usually attend. With the concert being right on the water- it brought in a cool sea breeze which made the weather for this concert more than perfect.
The concert began at one in the afternoon and lasted until 10 at night. Unfortunately I did not stay the whole time because I thought the concert ended. Overall I enjoyed great blues music, fantastic weather, and a great person by my side to spend the day with.
