If you like classics, then you will love Psycho.
This 1960 original features your classic slasher scene in the shower. After watching this movie, I had trouble shutting my eyes while washing my face. It’s not your modern scare, but the vintage horror is sure to please.
If you like conspiracy thrillers, then Bug is for you.
I was more disturbed than scared after watching this movie. The plot focuses on a war veteran and a lonely woman in an eerie Oklahoma motel that seems to have a really awful bug infestation. When it finished, I sat for a moment as I thought to myself, “What just happened…?”
If you like murder mysteries, then Se7en is sure to please.
This suspenseful psychological thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat takes a religious twist. The killer is looking for seven victims, one for each of the Seven Deadly Sins. It’s twisted and brilliant, a true movie night favorite.
If you like teen screams, then you’ll like The Hole.
This is actually my favorite movie on the list, and not just because they’re British and Keira Knightley is one of the main characters. A girl and her friends spend the weekend in an underground bunker, partying to their content. But when their friend never comes back to unlock the exit from the underground bunker they’re in, our understanding of what we think happens and what really happens begins to blur.
If you like shocking twists and surprise endings, then you will like Orphan.
May I just say that any movie featuring creepy, pale children is automatically scary? Well, demonic youth seems to be the heart of Orphan. When the Coleman family brings home nine-year-old Esther, terrible things start happening to good people. Just wait till the end, you will never guess why.
If you like mutants and gore, then The Hills Have Eyes will be perfectly disturbing and twisted.
The Hills Have Eyes is your classic middle-of-nowhere-infested-with-mutants flick. Full of gore, fast paced screams, and eerie suspense, this movie is surprisingly scary and entertaining. Just don’t watch The Hills Have Eyes 2, it’s worse than Rebecca Black’s newest single.
If you like suspense and a thick plot line, then you will fall in love with The Silence of the Lambs.
In this Oscar award winner, an FBI agent meets up with an uber creepy cannibal named Hannibal Lector. Lector dives into her past and inner emotions and creates the perfect setting for a horror movie. It is a must see movie that I promise you will not regret!
