The beloved Wizarding World of Harry Potter which recently opened its doors in 2012 is now under construction once again as an expansion takes way. Solid speculations say that, while the original Wizarding World of Harry Potter was modeled after Hogsmeade—the little wizarding town just outside of Hogwarts—the new expansion will be based off of Diagon Alley. This is where Harry and his friends can be found before the beginning of a new school year, stocking up on new magical learning equipment such as robes, wands, quills, cauldrons and magical pranking tools.
The new expansion will feature the same stores mentioned in the beloved novels, such as Ollivander’s Wand Shop (a larger version than that located in Hogsmeade), Madam Malkin’s Robes for All Occasions, Wiseacre’s Wizarding Equipment, Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, The Leaky Cauldron (the area’s restaurant) and Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour. It’s also said the expansion will even include Knockturn Alley, the portion of Diagon Alley that Harry was famously and accidentally transported to in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets after an incident involving Floo Powder. Knockturn Alley is the place all wizard-wannabes can turn to for their dark magic needs, as the area will feature Borgin and Burke’s store of dark magic.
Additionally, Potter fans can expect to find a unique ride to rival Harry Potter’s Forbidden Journey from the original Wizarding World attraction. Solid speculations suggest this will be a thrilling ride based off of the Gringotts Bank.
It is speculated that construction will be completed sometime between 2014 and 2015. For Harry Potter fans, this is a dream come true, allowing them to explore even more of the Harry Potter world first hand.
