Disney’s crowning moment: Elsa and Anna

Two new princesses will be welcomed into the Disney family some time in 2014.

A coronation is the moment every young princess waits for, it’s the moment they officially become royalty. The nation’s number one film, Frozen, featuring the newest Disney princesses: Anna and her older sister Elsa are going to add a new and glorious flare to the Disney family. It’s time for two princesses to be officially welcomed into the Disney princess family.

In May 2013, Brave’s Merida was crowned at Disney World as the 11th Disney princess. In Disney’s Brave, Merida and her mother repaired their broken relationship, and in the heartwarming ceremony last year, Merida was crowned by none other than her beloved mother.

With the release of Frozen in November 2013, it’s once again time for another princess to be welcomed to the world of Disney – two, in fact. The film’s clumsy and lovable Anna will be ushered into the Disney spotlight as the 12th princess, followed by her regal and elegant older sister Elsa as the 13th princess to be crowned on the Disney stage in front of Cinderella’s castle in Magic Kingdom.

While it looks like it may be some time before the coronation, it has been confirmed that it will indeed take place sometime in 2014, but no further information regarding the exact date has been released yet. The coronation for Brave’s Merida and Tangled’s Rapunzel both took place around 11 months after their movies’ release. If that is any indication, we can expect an October coronation for the two new princesses, but due to the intensely positive reaction Frozen received, we may be able to look forward to the crowning of the two sisters at an earlier date.
