Is Metallica’s new album worth buying?

The metal band Metallica, announced that they are going to be releasing a NEW album that is set to release on November 18 of this year called “Hardwired”. And from what we have heard off of the album so far has a few of us questioning whether or not the album is going to be worth buying. From the two songs they have released “Hardwired” and “Moth Into Flame,” some would say that it’s going to sound like the songs they did over thirty years ago, and some say that they have found a new rhythm or beat. However, I do believe that one of there songs “Hardwired” is the one with the “new beat” and the other one, “Moth Into Flame” is like a throwback to thirty years ago. Although these new song releases do have metal heads intrigued and curious as to what the rhythm and beat of the new album has in store for us.

None of their new songs have hit as many hits and their most famous one, “Enter Sandman” with over 100 million views on YouTube. One of their newer songs “Hardwired” has reached over 15 million views on YouTube.

The first song they released off of their new album was Hardwired. When you first hear it, it sounds like the old Metallica a little bit, but once you get further into the song, it starts to sound like a combination of their old songs, such as “Harvest of Sorrow,” “Master of Puppets” or “Blackened,” because it’s got that upbeat tempo. The timing on this song is also shorter by about three minutes, and a “normal” Metallica song is usually around five to eight minutes long.

Now, with their newest release of “Moth into Flame,” this one sounds more original and has more of that Metallica vibe. You’ve got the guitar solos, the guitar riffs, the song is longer, and it just sounds way better than their first song release. It’s like a throwback to “Master of Puppets,” “Enter Sandman,” “Seek and Destroy,” or “Kill ‘em All” type of thing. It is probably one of the better songs that they have come out with off of this albums. This song gives us a little bigger of a hint on whether or not the songs will be their normal speed or faster. Granted every album produced by any band or solo artist has a few slow, calming songs.

Former Metallica fan, Taunya Fowler said, “it sounds like  a mixture of songs they did thirty years ago. If ‘Hardwired’ and ‘Moth into Flame’ are the only two songs on the album that are good, then I don’t think the album is going to do very well.”

With only these  two songs that they have released, we can’t really tell if this new album is going to be worth buying or not, when it comes out.  These two songs are just a taste of the new album, and so far this taste is iffy. I believe that the album will not one of their bests, but it’ll be okay. I just don’t think it will be as good as any of the ones they made from over thirty years ago.
