It is that time of year, time for trick or treating and dressing up. Halloween is just around the corner and that means finding the perfect costume to scare the night away. There are many options to choose from: wigs, masks, makeup, and more.

The most popular ideas for Halloween this year are Harley Quinn, Pokemon Go trainers, and even a classic Disney Princess. Some ideas for guys are Batman, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and even a Tyrannosaurus Rex. A lot of these costumes can actually be done at home.

More ideas would be to dress up as someone from a favorite decade such as the 80’s or 90’s. Some group or partner ideas are to dress as peanut butter and jelly, maybe a banana and a monkey, M&M’s, or Power Rangers.

“I love Halloween because I can be whoever I want for a night,” said Eden Nehorai (‘20).

Costumes can be simple, it can be just a mask or a cut-up t-shirt.  But they can also be elaborate, from fake wounds and intricate makeup to going all-out and completely transforming into your favorite character.

“Halloween is great. I can dress up, go out with friends, and most importantly I get tons of candy,” said Abbey Puckett (‘20).

Back in the day some favorite costumes were witches, mummies, and vampires. As a matter of fact Halloween costumes have been around a very long time, since around 800-600 B.C. Halloween costumes are more modern now but of course it is not uncommon to still dress like the old days.

Needless to say, there a tons and tons of ideas and outfits to choose from. An outfit can be scary, funny, clever, homemade, store bought, simple, detailed, or even done with friends.

Halloween is practically here and it is time to dress your best (or your scariest) and fill up a bag with tons of candy. After all, a costume only gets the chance to be worn once a year so it is important to show it off.
