Will Netflix’s ever growing popularity mean that television shows will soon be obsolete?

Today, people watch Netflix on evenings or weekends over cable TV. People will even use it to describe their favorite activity. TV shows aren’t as talked about as Netflix.

“Netflix is user friendly and easy to use,” Mikala Lopez, a frequent Netflix user, said.

Netflix is a platform for watching shows that have already been aired on TV as well as to view original series made just for Netflix. All shows are presented at the push of a button. This allows people to choose what they want to watch when they want to watch it.

Recently, companies have made shows exclusive to Netflix. Netflix is a multi-device program and runs on devices like video game consoles and smartphones. This lets people access it from anywhere and enjoy their favorite shows.

Netflix is a cheaper alternative to cable. Netflix can also be used on different devices and viewed by anyone with the password. Netflix also has a kids version that restricts access to inappropriate content.

Cable boxes are stuck in one place and can’t move further than its cord allows. To view TV shows, a television set is required. Cable boxes don’t need internet to function, so if your internet crashes, TV shows can still be watched.

Often, TV shows air on television before they go on Netflix, so you can be the first to view it and spoil it to your friends.

Cable Boxes can show you live video but Netflix can’t do that. It can only replay shows. Live sports can’t be viewed on Netflix and can only be seen on cable TV, so to keep up with the score, Netflix won’t cut it. OnDemand will play movies at around three dollars per day depending on your service provider. Netflix charges monthly and takes away movies if people don’t watch them enough.

So is the cost worth it? It’s up to the way you view television.
