Fantasy football; What is it? How does it work? And why do people do it? People can play for gambling reasons, to find their competitive spirit, or to just have fun.

Fantasy football is a fake team that people draft to make the ultimate group of players. People can pull players from any NFL team. It’s easier to pick individually, however, if they don’t pick any players the computer automatically picks for them.

Aidan Britton (‘19) has been playing Fantasy Football for two years with his group of friends.

“I love football and fantasy makes it easier for my friends to enjoy it as well,” Britton said. “Most of them are soccer players so it’s harder for them to understand some of the concepts, but they have done a bunch of research to help them understand what it means.”

Duvon Olarte (‘19) is second in his league and understands the game and how it works.

“I traded my first round pick for my best player; Le’veon Bell,” Olarte said. “Although he’s one of the best running backs in the NFL, he’s out due to contract issues.”

With Bell out, who was the number one pick, everyone panicked and passed around not only Bell, but one of the best modern quarterbacks- who has received the most Super Bowl rings (5) as a quarterback- Tom Brady.

“I had Brady at one point, but because I’m such a big fan of the Eagles I traded Brady for their quarterback Carson Wentz,” Britton said.

Everyone has their own opinions about trades, who to pick up and which person has the best team. The league goes into chaos every week, and will continue to do so until the end of the season.
