A common Christmas favorite is the classic peanut butter blossom cookies. Although these cookies may not be for you if you have a peanut allergy, these delicious treats are sure to be favored by many. These cookies are so incredibly simple to make anyone can do it, even if baking isn’t your strength.  This dessert is made with peanut butter cookie dough topped with a Hershey’s chocolate kiss. This recipe comes from bettycrocker.com.

The ingredients to make these peanut butter blossoms calls for:

  • ½ a cup of granulated sugar
  • ½ a cup of packed brown sugar
  • ½ a cup of creamy peanut butter
  • ½ a cup of softened butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 ½ cups of all-purpose flour
  • ¾ a teaspoon of baking soda
  • ½ a teaspoon of baking powder
  • Unwrapped Hershey’s kisses

When you have all your ingredients, it’s time to make the cookies in three easy steps:

  1. Heat the oven to 375°F. In a large bowl, beat the granulated sugar, brown sugar, peanut butter, butter and an egg with an electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon, until well blended. Stir in flour, baking soda and baking powder until your dough forms.
  1. Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in additional granulated sugar. On ungreased cookie sheets, place the dough about 2 inches apart.
  1. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Immediately press 1 Hershey’s kiss in the center of each cookie. Remove from cookie sheets to cool.

These sweet and simple cookies are worth a try. Partnered with a glass of milk, these cookies will make a delicious desert for the holiday season.
