Q. When did you first start writing songs and what inspired you?
A. I first started writing songs in 8th grade. At first I wasn’t very good at it but after awhile I got better. My love for music inspired me. Whenever I heard a good song on the radio I would think “Hey, I want to be able to have my own song”. So I tried it and I loved it.
Q. What does your song “Famous” represent?
A. The song Famous is about how I just want to be famous. To have my songs sung by other people and to be able to play at huge concerts. The title of the song pretty much sums of the summary of it.
Q. Where do you showcase your music?
A. I have performed at Neptune’s Lounge with my band, New Wave, and I sang the National Anthem at a Lightning hockey game twice. Also, over the summer I went to Nashville, Tennessee to audition for American Idol. This year they changed the age limit to 15-28 and I’ve always wanted to be on this show. So my dad and I flew to Nashville for the first audition which a ton of people auditioned as well. I passed the first round and they told me I had to come back in September to audition again. After much preparation, I flew back to Tennessee a couple months later and got passed round two. Sadly, round two and round three were back to back so after I got passed round two I was sent to a room filled with cameras and executive producers all staring at me. After I sang they said I wasn’t ready but that I should come back next year. I was heartbroken but I looked at this with a positive attitude. Now I’ll be more prepared for next year.
Q. Do you want to be famous when you grow up?
A. My goal in life is to be famous. I don’t want to do anything else and I would be perfectly happy if my job everyday was to play my music for people. It would just be amazing.
