On the Road Again

While some people binge watched Netflix, others spent their summers packed with adventurous activities.

Costa Rica is becoming one of the hottest vacation destinations and this summer, Nina Allowe went on an exciting trip to Manual Antonio with the zoology class. From surfing to waterfall rappelling she said, “I had the experience of a lifetime, and got to try a ton of authentic Costa Rican food.” She said, that her favorite part of the trip was the wildlife in Manuel Antonio and when the monkeys came into the restaurant and started jumping on the tables.

 

Nash Misener

Nash Misener flew to Canada to pick up his grandmother and then his family took a road trip through most of the states. Nash Misener said, “my favorite part about this trip was going to Tennessee because we got a cabin and we went white water rafting and ziplining and I had a really great time.”

 

Leon Majcen

Leon Majcen had an incredible opportunity to travel to Savannah, Georgia, and audition for American Idol. Leon has been playing guitar and singing since he was 7 years old. “It was a great experience. Not everyone gets this opportunity so I’m very thankful that I did,” Majcen said.

 

Kayla Spencer

Kayla Spencer traveled to North Carolina to go on a Christian retreat. She had a lot of fun while participating in the outdoor activities and going to the lake. Kayla said that her favorite part was the 500 foot zipline.

 

David Fuller

David Fuller flew up to New York to see his dad, and then the two of them drove to Maine where David learned how to fly fish. David said, “I really enjoyed being able to spend some time with my dad”.

 

Zenah Baker

Zenah Baker traveled to Toronto, Canada, to perform at her cousin’s wedding. Zenah and her sister sang “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri. Zenah said, “This was my second time performing in front of a large group crowd and I was glad that I had the opportunity to do that for my cousin.”
