Make this travel-free summer spectacular

With only a few weeks left this school year, plans for vacations are already being laid, but how can students battle back the boredom if they don’t have anything set in stone?

No big trip this year? Looking for some things to do that won’t entail driving for hours or reserving really far ahead?

Visiting nearby beaches is one way to spend the time.

Some beaches within the general vicinity include Clearwater Beach, Fred Howard Park, Sand Key Park, Indian Rocks Beach, Honeymoon Island State Park, Caladesi Island State Park, St. Pete Beach, and Fort DeSoto Park.

And, if you’re looking to try something new while at the beach, look no further than the countless options for boat, jetski, parasail, windsurf, flyboard, and paddleboard rentals.

There are also plenty of parks and museums nearby.

But, there are also plenty of options for days that aren’t especially bright and sunny.

Paying a visit to the movie theater is never a terrible way to spend time.

One place to look into could include Pinot’s Palette, if one is interested in painting.

They offer group lessons to paint various different pictures, teaching so that even beginners can get something out of it.

But if students are not interested in art, don’t worry because there are plenty of other options, too.

Also, students should look into summer camps, before they’re all booked up to see if they find something that piques their interest.

For those interested in gokarting, racing, biking, and other similar activities, there are a few local tracks and events to participate in, as well.

And if climbing is to your liking, Vertical Ventures and TreeUmph! are great places to visit.

Furthermore, now would be the time to fulfill the many volunteering requirements several students have.

Also, if there’s a sport or instrument students play or a hobby they practice, summer break is the perfect time to practice it.

Unfortunately, each student will probably need to fit in some time to complete summer assignments, but that shouldn’t prevent students from enjoying their vacations.

There are also things students can enjoy doing at home, but that’s a whole other story.

So, don’t waste the break dreading the school year. Instead, spend it doing all the things you enjoy and try new things as well.
