The air gets cooler, leaves turn brown, and the scent of cinnamon and pumpkin lace the air. Pumpkin patches and haunted houses are on every street corner and spooky decorations line the neighborhood.

There are plenty of activities to partake in around Halloween time. Some include fall festivals and there are simple events that anyone can enjoy.

The Halloween Carnival at the Palm Harbor Rec Center is coming up. They will have trick or treating, a haunted hayride, and a haunted house. Wristbands are only $10. It will take place Saturday Oct. 26.

Something else that would be fun for people of all ages is the Pumpkin Festival at Hunsader Farms. There will be a corn maze, a petting zoo, shows, games, food, and more. The last day to go will be Oct. 27.

Another activity is the Pumpkin Fest at Florida Botanical Gardens on Oct. 27. 

And of course, do not forget Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at Disney in Orlando. They will have all sorts of spooky treats and everyone gets to dress up and have a good time.

There are also activities for those who love a good scare. These include Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens (one night tickets cost $39.99) , and Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios (ticket price starts at $67.99). Both events have guests walk through the park whilst getting scared and spooked by all sorts of creepy costumed actors.

For those who prefer to stay local, it is very likely there are pumpkin patches near home. There are about half a dozen patches in Palm Harbor. 

So pick up a pumpkin, carve it, make some pie, roast some seeds, or just set it out for decoration.
