For the week of December 13 to December 17, a totaled and entirely destroyed car was placed in the courtyard. “SADD” (Students Against Destructive Decisions) advisor and school resource officer, Deputy Jeffery Cuttitta, prearranged the car to be put on view for all students and staff to observe. On the side of the utterly damaged and almost beyond repair car reads the words “D.U.I. or texting…same result!” A number of students have taken notice of the bulky, crashed vehicle in the courtyard. “It makes me think people should never be multitasking while they are driving, no matter how good of a driver you think you are,” sophomore Chandler Collins said. Other students felt pretty similar. “It’s sort of random and it just makes me think that this could happen to anyone’” senior Margaret Little said. The lesson that students and observers should be learning from this very realistic display is to always be aware that things can go wrong on the road and to drive with caution at all times.
