For those who have never seen the massive flocks of orange-clad IB seniors congregated on the steps of the teaching auditorium that one joyous day every year in late April, brace yourself for this year’s “Jailbreak” to hit the courtyard of Palm Harbor on Friday, April 29.
Every incoming class of IB students dream of this day from their first day of freshman year, and, when it arrives, it indicates the start of their rigorous IB exams. But wait, why so excited about exams? Jailbreak marks the last day up until the end of IB testing in late May that IB seniors are required to be on campus. Ultimately, it serves as Seniors’ last day of IB classes. Not bad, eh?
Now, it is important to note that during the time span of jailbreak, students are required to be preparing for their exams during school hours and they will be at the Stavros Center actually taking exams multiple days per week.
But what about the flamboyant coustumes? The orange inmate-style attire has a number printed across the back; this number is representative of each student’s candidate number which identifies all work submitted to the International Baccalaureate Organization by that particular student.
“I absolutely can’t wait until jailbreak!” said Courtney Clark, senior.
