Mosi is known for its interesting and dynamic exhibits and has now acquired a new one. Target America: Opening Eyes to the Damage of Drugs Cause is an exhibit from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Museum that began a national tour in 2002 and is now at Mosi.
“There will be a lot of different areas,” marketing manager for Mosi Adrienne Drew said. ” There will be a lot of scenarios you get to walk through like cocaine and heroin labs and there’s a section that shows the celebrities that have lost their lives to drugs.”
The exhibit was designed to open eyes to the science behind illegal drug addiction and the selected costs of illegal drugs and to try to make us realize that all of us can make a difference.
“The exhibit is a good display of the various issues and events that our country is dealing with in the war against drugs,” special agent in charge of the Tampa district office Jimmy Dicaprio said. “It provides visual and hands on interaction with displays and kiosks to show the consequences and misuse and abuse of drugs.”
The exhibit is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9-6. It’s staying at Mosi until September of 2012 so make sure you go check it out!
“It is suitable for all ages, children and adults. Everyone will learn,” Drew said
