Anticipation sets in, silence and then ringing clearly the sound of music rings throughout the stadium. This is what they have been waiting for.
In the 2012 U.S. Army All American Bowl, our own PHUHS senior, Brian Millan, will perform along with various high school students that compose the All American Marching band that is to play during the game.
“I sent in audition tapes to San Antonio and I was chosen out of 12 people,” Millan said, “I was really excited.”
Playing the trumpet, music has been his passion for years.
“[Music is a good way to express myself. Especially when I’m playing in a group of people,” Millan said.
The All American Marching band consists of over 100 members and is from all across the U.S. When Millan was told about his achievement he was shocked.
“I was surprised and I told Mr. Dikes, our band director, and he was really proud of me,” Millan said.
We all wish Millan luck in his performance along with other exceptional students on Jan. 7th in San Antonio.
