On December 18, students received a letter stating that our school is going to be doubling the efforts to make all of our students feel safe.
After the devastating events in Newtown, Connecticut, Pinellas County School Resource Officers and local law enforcement agencies have increased their presence at elementary schools. Earlier December 18, Dr. Grego, PHU’s superintendent, told administration that the district is continuing to review all emergency management procedures. Superintendents are working their hardest with school leadership teams to make sure every school in the district is as safe as possible and that every adult knows his or her part should an emergency occur.
Several resources relating to how to handle a tragic event like the Connecticut shooting have been posted online and these resources are referred to in the letter .
