Hilarious, captivating, unique, enormous, the best musical around. These are words that have been circulating around the corridors of PHUHS with the highly anticipated showings of Urinetown the Musical run by the Drama Department along with Graham Howard.

Urinetown will have three showings, from Nov. 7th to Nov. 9th starting at 7:00 p.m. and running until 10:00 p.m.. The musical will cost fifteen dollars for adults and ten dollars for children twelve and under.

The cast was chosen through auditions. Sophomore Nicholas Dean was chosen to take part in the musical. In every play the Drama Department holds, the cast is adorned in elaborate costumes.

“The costumes are prepared by Mr. Howard and Mrs. Webster,” Dean said.

The students in stage craft are diligently working on preparing the set for the musical. The students, along with the stage manager and drama students, build and paint the set themselves.

Rumors are going around the campus regarding the topic of Urinetown. Senior Haralambos Petalas is looking forward to attending the musical.

“It’s supposed to be about pee,” Petalas said. “I heard it’s going to be funny.”

Extensive practices are held every day after school for about four hours. After the grueling rehearsals, most of the cast and crew are excited for the show itself.

“I’m most looking forward to the show finally being ready and getting it all polished,” Howard said.

Much preparation and treacherous work always goes in to a performance at PHUHS. Every year students are baffled with the success and entertaining nature of performances held at school. The play will be a great way to socialize with friends while having a captivating showing of a play, starring peers, to watch.
