News about a new convenience store called Canes Cafe has been swarming student social media feeds. Which of course with a lot of publicity comes with a lot of questions of what the store is and what it actually is about.

One of the main reasons why the store was made is because the owner, Vince Parisi, realized that there was really nothing around for students walking to get drinks or something to eat. Which made him decide that he was going to make a stand and make something out of the corner not more than two blocks from the school. The business was called Canes Cafe’ because of its proximity to the school which made the business popping, and is now full of Palm Harbor spirit wear.

Parisi designed his store not only by the school spirit of Palm Harbor, but by how he met his wife Kristy Parisi. He decided that he was going to put some of the exotic foods that Australians might eat, because his wife is from there. So, some of the foods that they carry are Australian meat pies and they also carry quiches. Besides Australian food, they also carry sausage rolls, Jupiter Donuts, and bagels that another carrier brings in for the Canes Cafe’.

“The biggest thing that I want to carry out for the store and the school is to make sure that everyone knows that we want to bring the community and the U together. That we are here sponsoring certain sports groups, and certain things for the theater and different things for the school just in general to support U,” Parisi said.

The main focus that the Canes Cafe’ wants to promote is the grab and go option for high school students. Then they can quickly get in and get out as fast as possible and end up not being late for school. That they will work with students to make sure that they are able to get what they want when they want.

“I went to Canes Cafe’ after softball practice, and got a smoothie and I was still able to make it home on time before my mother even realized I was gone,” Chandini Prabhu (‘21) said.

Everyone should make sure that they check out Canes Cafe soon before there’s a line out the door!
