I was excited to get the text from my future college roommate about something she invested in to help us survive. She told me she got a cookbook that suggests healthy and cheap ways to eat. What could be better! After looking through the full color pages, it just made my anxiousness ten times more intense.
The book is called Student Cookbook and is published by Love Food which is located in the United Kingdom. The book has a little bit of an Andy Warhol theme, like objects that have unrealistic colors. It’s very eye-catching and is fun to look at.
I really like much the publishers go into detail about every aspect of cooking. There are fifteen specific steps about taking a trip to the grocery store that can help any consumer save money. On the next page, there is a list of common items that are a basis for most meals, which are categorized. There are also friendly reminders on how you should thoroughly clean and keep certain foods at certain temperatures to keep yourself and others out of harm’s way.
Some recipes have their own two-page spread, while others share their pages with three other recipes. The large recipes each have future hints and an opinion from a taste team specialist. All recipes, no matter what page, have a picture, a list of ingredients, the procedure, and an icon that determines whether the recipe is considered healthy, speedy, cheap, and impressive, only uses one pot, or contains veggies or spice. The recipes are divided into groups named “The Big Breakfast”, “Grab and Go”, “Simple Suppers”, “Beyond the Takeout”, and “Look Who’s Cooking”.
Personally, I am stoked to use this book because everything looks so delicious! I am positive this will come in handy and be a hit with all of my old friends, and even new ones. You can find this book on sale for $3.99 at Marshalls next to the movie theater
