Super Bowl XLIX predictions

– Will New England deflate Seattle’s hopes for a dynasty?

This years Super Bowl takes place February 1, 6:30 p.m. on NBC. The University of Phoenix Stadium will host the two best teams in the NFL this season: the AFC Champion New England Patriots and the NFC Champion Seattle Seahawks.

The big game this year is one of the more anticipated in recent memory, as the defending champs out in Seattle, led by the Legion of Boom, take on the veteran Patriots and 3x Super Bowl winner Tom Brady. The game also marks one of the more rare situations where the two #1 seeds from each conference meet in the end.

Scarred by recent controversy, New England must prove that they can win a playoff game without deflating balls. The task seems to be unbelievably tough though as they must do it against the most physical defense in the league in Seattle’s Legion of Boom; led by Kam Chancellor, Byron Maxwell, Richard Sherman, and Earl Thomas.

New England quarterback Tom Brady will attempt to etch his name in stone as the greatest QB in NFL history by adding another Super Bowl ring to his 3 already won. Meanwhile, Seattle’s Russell Wilson heads back to the big game for ring #2 in only his 3rd year in the NFL.

The Seahawks’ media-avoiding (yet media-adoring?) RB Marshawn Lynch will try to provide his team with big play support from the backfield. But with the most advanced offense in the league with a future HoF QB, the dangerous LeGarrette Blount, and not to mention tight end Rob Gronkowski, New England seems to hold a slight edge over Seattle.

Final Score Prediction: Patriots 34, Seahawks 26.
