FIFA 16 Review

-FIFA 16 hit shelves this fall and breaks new boundaries to withhold it’s prestige as the most popular sports video game.

It’s like watching a live game on TV, yet you’re controlling it. This year’s new and improved soccer game seems as realistic as it can possibly get. EA Sports does so every year. Some people may complain that FIFA 16 has gotten too hard to play. However, these are the same people that would abuse the pace, or the speed characteristic, of quick players in previous games. Despite that irrelevant critic, the game contains nothing but entertaining new aspects to be engaged in.

Career mode is taking a monumental leap forward. There are new aspects that allow for a more realistic way for having a successful season. There is personal training that assists players to getting and performing better. Also, there is a scouting feature that grants more control to the user by scouting for more specific characteristics of players, like youth or strong players. The downfall of previous FIFA video games would make the “career manager” start from scratch after a long season. Now, the winnings of money and trophies carries over to the following season. It feels as though you are a real, professional manager.

To attract a larger portion of the population, EA Sports has added an additional side to their game: women soccer players. But, it is arguably a waste of money. It hasn’t proved to have received the same attention from the opposite sex. EA Sports should’ve used the time and money used to create the women players to fix their server problems. Online gaming has had consistent problems, such as lags, that have yet to be fixed. Nevertheless, the addition of women is quite interesting and revolutionary in sports video games.

FIFA 16 is practical all around the board. Obviously, the graphics are tremendous. The commentating is superb. The words and phrases are new and relevant to what is going on in today’s world with transfers and injuries. Unlike last year, you cannot guess what Andy Grey is going to say next. Even the celebrations are made to mimic the ones players perform in real life. It’s really comical. The way of play has changed too. You cannot just run as fast as you can and score a goal. It is more realistic because you need to use a build-up style of play to be successful. On the contrary, unit defending is the only means possible to preventing the other team from scoring, much like soccer.

All in all, FIFA 16 is a great innovation to the previous years of virtual soccer gaming. The games just keep improving. FIFA 16 career mode, women players, and graphics prove that it is the best soccer game on the market. From all lovers of FIFA, thank you EA Sports.
