Girls In Boy Scouts?

Lately, the question that has been swarming around the internet is going viral that question is if girls should be allowed to join boy scouts or not? Many people have different opinions, but the answer to that question is actually more complex than you might think.

Girl Scouts is all about how girls prepare to empower themselves and promote compassion, courage, confidence, character, leadership, and entrepreneurship. Boy scouts are all about citizenship, character development, and self-reliance through participation in a wide range of outdoor activities, educational programs, and, at older age levels, career-oriented programs.

So, why not let the sex of the opposite gender join either Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts. Why, is it up to the government to have a say in what we should and shouldn’t be doing? They shouldn’t have a say because after all it is a free country in the first place, and if it’s not hurting anyone why put a stop to it.

“Girls can do anything that boys can do, and I don’t get why society is trying to separate Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts because isn’t society supposed to be equal?” Said, Cassie McCowan

Not all girls want to go out into the world and sell cookies, if a girl wants to learn how to make a fire without any necessary tools, or wants to learn how to catch fish with a net, and sleep outdoors that’s your freedom and your right to be able to do so.

“The need for female leadership has never been clearer or more urgent than it is today – and only Girl Scouts has the expertise to give girls and young women the tools they need for success,” Said, CNN

There is so much experience that is to gain form boy scouts, “Scouting provides youth with an opportunity to try new things, provide service to others, build self-confidence, and reinforce ethical standards.”According to www.scouting.org

Girls should be able to take a stance and be able to take new opportunities and to learn new standards whether it be in girl scouts or boy scouts.

“I think that Girls Scouts should be equal to Boy Scouts. I understand they want boys and girls separated but they should be made an equal team. Like Girl Scouts sell cookies, knit, and sew. Then Boy Scouts go camping and stuff, and I feel like they should have the same opportunities.” Said, Emily Ulmer

I don’t believe that it’s right to have just girl’s in one group and boys in the other. We should all be treated equally and be able to join a group if we want to, as long as it’s not hurting anyone I don’t see the problem with it.
