Movie theaters such as Muvico, come out with movies on their release date for people to watch.

Movies are started by a spark of one’s imagination, and brought to life with green screens, stunts, custom designed outfits and much more. A story line can make a movie a classic and known for years on end.

Alita: Battle Angel, Isn’t it Romantic, and What Men Want, are examples of movies that have come out in the past few months and received good feedback. Movies such as, Mary Poppins Returns, The Lion King, and The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, have also been released recently and are remakes of classics with different actors in a different time.

The movie, Mary Poppins Returns, directed by Rob Marshall, is about London in a depression-era and now-grown Jane and Michael Banks, along with Michael’s three children who are visited by the one and only Mary Poppins. The movie was released in 2018 on Dec. 19 and showcased lots of songs that are unforgettable as a link to the original story.

Another movie, The Lion King, directed by Jon Favreau, is set to be released on July 19, 2019, and is about an adventure where Simba finds himself exiled from the throne by his evil uncle, Scar. He is forced to confront dangers of the wild and find his way back home to take his rightful place to the throne.

The Nutcracker and the Four Realms is directed by Lasse Hallström and Joe Johnston and is a two-act ballet. The movie was released in 2018 on Nov. 2 by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and has had great feedback. It follows a young girl who is gifted a locked egg from her deceased mother and sets out in a magical land to retrieve a key.

All in all, movies such as The Lion King, have tougher crowds to impress in contrast to movies like The Nutcracker and the Four Realms; which shows diverse amounts of imagination and thought. When movie makers choose to remake a movie with their own ideas, it is an ill-timely decision and makes it more difficult to receive good ratings and feedback.
