PALM HARBOR, FL- This article will be a comparison of favored water bottle brands and looking at which functions better putting aside its brand name and popularity.
Hydro Flask, Stanley, Takeya, Yeti, Simple Modern, with all these popular water bottle brands, how can you know which is best? With the school year starting students purchased all different brands of water bottles although there are some obvious favorites. The biggest competitors being Hydro Flask and Stanley which is what this will mainly focus on. Stanley cups were made in 2017 but recently went super viral late last year/early this year. Tiktok was a big promotion outlet influencing more and more people to go buy them. Hydro Flasks came out in 2009 however didn’t go viral until 2019 when “VSCO girls” became a trend. Since then, Hydro Flask has stayed relevant, experiencing their peak revenue of $14 million in 2022. Hydro Flasks water bottles are priced at varying prices but their most popular style being $49.95 Stanelys most popular style is $50. There are of course second party sellers having these products for cheaper, but some are thought to be fake.
Now onto comparing both of their features using their most common bought products (pictured above). The Stanely has a more open style top with no covering for the straw so has an easier chance of spilling if tipped over. To try and combat this problem there has been production of rubber stoppers to go on the end of the straw sold by other online companies. The Hydro flask has an internal straw with a mouthpiece that can be closed by pushing it down, hoping to prevent spills. Hydro Flask advertises a Tempshield double wall vacuum that keeps your drink cold for 24 hours and hot for 12 hours, leak proof lid, durable 18/8 stainless steel with no flavor transfer, BPA-free, dishwasher safe, and color powder that lasts. Stanely advertises 90% recycled 18/8 stainless steel, BPA-free, double wall vacuum insulation, soft matte finish, screw on 3-position lid, comfort grip handle, car cup holder compatible, and dishwasher safe. These 2 have mostly similar features with just different designs and brands. So why do people prefer one over the other? Aviel Voytovich(26’) says “I like Hydro Flasks better because it’s more spill proof, it keeps my water colder, and it’s less bulky”. Amelia Lumia Leto(26’) says “I prefer Stanleys because they are cuter with better colors and designs, and they’re more convenient with a handle”. Both Hydroflask and Stanley owners prefer theirs more for different reasons so it really is just up to your opinion. Hydro Flask and Stanley are both making a considerable amount of revenue and will continue to compete.
