Chocolate FroYo Recipe

FroYo: A smooth, creamy, yummy treat to satisfy your sweet tooth.

This chocolate frozen yogurt recipe is one of the easiest desserts to make. It has a short, versatile list of ingredients that can be tweaked to personal liking. The end result is a smooth, creamy, yummy treat to satisfy your sweet tooth.

  • 2 cups Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup

* The maple syrup can be substituted for another teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1/4 cup powdered sugar, and vice versa since maple syrup is a sweetener that generally contains added vanilla extract.

Simply mix together ingredients in a stand mixer until smooth and fully combined. To freeze, this can be done one of two ways. One, transfer the mixture to a pan or dish, cover with cling wrap, and freeze for 1 hour; then remove the pan from the freezer and mix with a fork until smooth again, then pop it back in the freezer for another 3 hours, removing and stirring every hour. The second option would be for those that have an ice cream machine. Simply pour the mixture into the pre-frozen machine and allow it to churn for about 30 minutes. Then, you can either eat it right away, or allow it to sit in the freezer for 15 minutes to harden.

Enjoy with any toppings of choice, like nuts, peanut butter, whipped cream, or berries!
