Gingerbread Man Cookies

There’s no *butter* way to get in the holiday spirit than with these classic gingerbread cookies.

These cookies are soft and chewy instead of firm and crumbly. The recipe makes 24 servings to share with family or enjoy to yourself! All it takes is the following ingredients:

3 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon salt
10 tablespoons softened butter
3/4 cup molasses
2 tablespoons milk

Once you have the ingredients measured out, make the dough by combining the flour, brown sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, and salt to a mixing bowl. Once that’s mixed, add softened butter. Slowly mix in molasses with a blender on low speed. Once all mixed together, divide the dough into two plastic bags and refrigerate overnight.

Once the dough is chilled, preheat your oven to 350 degrees and begin shaping them however you want to. I choose to use a cookie cutter to make them shaped like gingerbread men.

Bake the dough for 8 to 12 minutes, or until the dough is slightly firm. Be careful to not overbake them to avoid them being too hard. Once cooled off, decorate with frosting and toppings and enjoy!
