The Lady Canes softball team has had a very impressive season so far. Their record is currently 12-3 which is well above average and has the girls well on their way to a winning season. For those who don’t know the Canes softball always has a pretty strong team. Last year they made it to regional quarter-finals and had a tough loss but they plan to make it even farther this year, in order to do that they will have to first defeat their always archrival, Eastlake. The girls have lost to Eastlake twice this year so far and unfortunately the score wasn’t as close as they wanted it to be. The team also lost to other rival Osceola, they plan to beat them the next time they play them though.
“We’ve been doing pretty well this season and I think at the rate we’re at we’ll be able to make it farther than we did last year,” Junior Lindsey Fenlon said. “The only thing we have to worry about is beating Eastlake which is going to be tough.”
Lindsey has been on the softball team since freshman year. She’s a great player and has contributed a lot to the team. This season she was out for a few games because she was very sick, but she’s back now and ready to play.
Your Lady Canes are about to go far this season and could possibly bring home a state title so don’t miss your chance to come out and watch a game. Support the girls as they fight to go all the way!
