Spring football has started once again with the 2011 team. This past Thursday at 7 pm, the varsity football team held their annual Blue and White game. This event is a scrimmage between the players on varsity. Each series was a fifteen minute running clock and the teams would switch at the end of each series. The first offense played the first defense, and the second offense played the second defense. There was also a third string team.
Every player wore white, but the defense wore yellow caps to distinguish between the “teams”. On the first drive, junior Kenny Blanch scored with a nice run. But soon, the defense came back and scored after picking the ball off.
Throughout the game, the defense continued to score. They reached the end zone by a turnover, another interception, and a fumble. But that didn’t stop the offense from coming out on top. Sophomore Logan Ruby kicked a field goal and Blanch had a forty yard run for the touchdown. Junior Patrick Moriarty also scored a sixty yard run. The junior varsity quarterback, freshman Kyle Olsen, threw a touchdown pass.
To catch more action against a different school, go to the spring game this Friday, May 27.
