The Lady Canes Softball team is pratically an only winning team. With six seniors on the team, they want to make their last season count. No senior wants to leave their sport with a loosing streak. The Lady Canes seniors sure won’t be doing that. “Our record so far is 20-2 so far,” said senior Rachel Ionata. With 20 wins and 2 looses their not doing to bad. “We work hard at practice and it shows in our games,” said junior Vanessa Fernandez.
Last season the Lady Canes did not make it to states, but this year everyone has a positive attitude that they will not only make it to states but win states. “Personally I think if we keep playing like this we will make it to states and might even win it all,” said Ionata. “We are all like a family so we work well together,” said Fernandez. Team work is key to any sport that involves a team. There is no way you can make it far if you don’t work together to get there.
With the Lady Canes softball program you could understand why they are as good as they seem. They practice everyday and always work hard. Conditioning started a little after school started and their did not officially start until late January. It looks like all that hard work is paying off now in the most important part of their season. The season is coming to an end.
