Coming in at six foot three, 170 pounds, is future National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) star Kiana Chew. This year alone, Chew is playing for both the PHU women’s basketball team and the Tampa Titans.

Her impressive statistics, along with the fact that she already has a fan base, shows that she’s capable of becoming a big star. Achieving close to ten points, six blocks, and eight rebounds per game, it is no surprise that colleges from around the country have been making her phone light up with calls.

“I was really surprised and honored that I got the letter and a call from them,” said Chew.

After months of schools calling from all around the country, the right school finally called. A very successful Division I team has selected Chew. The University of Arizona from the Pac-12 conference is the school that Chew has committed to, and it’s one of the major steps up to making it to the WNBA.

“I’m feeling positive about my future in my college career,” said Chew.

Even though the Arizona Wildcats went 13-19 in the regular season last year in the Pac-12, Chew might be the perfect charm for the team to help them get to the top of the conference.

Chew, a great forward that has an ESPN rank of 55, will most definitely be successful in the NCAA with Arizona. Although she has been committed, PHU still has her for this season’s girls’ basketball team.
