Another season of PHU Volleyball, and the Lady Canes are dominating once again.

At 15-2 , and 8-0 in the district, the Lady Canes are looking to make a huge playoff run.

The team looks to take the school to states for the first time in school history. The Canes are rolling after coming off their second consecutive PCAC championship.

“I really believe we will make it to states this season. We have been clicking really well as a team and we’ve all gotten so close that I think as long as we continue playing as a team we can win states.” said sophomore Zeena Khazendar.

Led by 5 seniors; Including future Ragin’ Cajun Julia Angelo and Citadel commit Emma Strong, it seems as though the canes are poised to meet their expectations of a state championship.

“Our goal is to definitely get to states because that will be the farthest we’ve ever gone,” senior Julia Angelo said about her expectations for this season.

Coming off two wins against Calvary on senior night 3 games to 1 and besting East Lake 2-0 for the PCAC championship, the Canes are rolling.

The District tournament was this week, and the defending champs did not disappoint. After beating Countryside in their first game, the team beat East Lake again for the second time in two weeks to win the district championship.

With only a few weeks left in the season, the canes are pushing to make the first state final appearance in school history. Regionals start next week for the Canes and it looks as though the cannot be stopped.
